CeBIT, now in it’s 14th year, is Australia’s number one business technology event, where the largest gathering of business, IT and government executives in the Asia Pacific region attend to find technology innovations, that will drive considerable change in the economy and business landscapes in the years ahead.
CeBIT is organised by Deutsche Messe Worldwide, the world’s largest event company and organiser of the giant CeBIT technology fair in Hannover.
Being the sole full-time Graphic Designer and Web Developer for Hannover Fairs Australia has been very challenging, almost all aspects of Graphic Design and Web Development were required of me. However, it has been a very rewarding experience, I had learnt a lot from it. The show was held during 5–7 May 2015, at Sydney Olympic Park. I was highly delighted seeing all of my designs being used and coming to life as everything fell into place harmoniously.
Responsibilities at Hannover Fairs included collaborating with different teams within the company including the CeMAT, GovInnovate, and CeBIT teams. The job has been very demanding especially when it drew closer to the exhibition date.
Design for Hannover Fairs included advertising collateral ranging from flyers, digital banners, brochures, advertising material, maintaining existing designs & floorplans, on-site signage and interior design. Also during my time here I have instructed a design intern and taught her foundations of design and the use of appropriate applications.
I had developed codes from the ground up, creating a new Wordpress theme of my own for the websites. It is part of my duty to update and maintain the sites. I have shaped and made the sites more optimal and streamlined compared to the previous versions of last year.
All-in-all the shows were highly successful this year and I am very glad and lucky to have been involved.
